For the first time in a couple of months we have a record in the survey that did not make the Billboard Hot 100: Arlo Guthrie’s “Gypsy Davy” bubbled under at number 105, and will make it to number 21 here. “Letter to Lucille” by Tom Jones will do a little better here than nationally, 33 versus 60, while soul vocal group the Independents will come up short with “Leaving Me,” a number 21 BB hit that will stop at number 35 in Seattle. That leaves Maureen McGovern’s “The Morning After” from The Poseidon Adventure, which will exactly equal its national success, number one for two weeks.
