Of the five debuts, Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy Mercy Me,” a number four Billboard hit, will only get to number 24, while the others will perform comparably to their national peaks.

As mentioned previously, Tom Clay’s “What the World Needs Now is Love/Abraham, Martin and John” drops off the survey from number one.

Chicago’s “Colour My World” was the b-side of “Beginnings.” In Billboard they were listed together as “Beginnings/Colour My World” and peaked at number seven; here they will be “Colour My World/Beginnings” next week and peak at number twelve the week after, then “Beginnings” will disappear from the survey.

Rod Stewart’s “Reason to Believe” will move up one spot next week to number 42, and then it will be replaced on the survey by its b-side, “Maggie May,” which will spend 20 weeks there and peak at number three. In Billboard, “Reason to Believe” was on the chart for four weeks, peaking at number 62, at which point the listing became “Maggie May/Reason to Believe,” spending five weeks at number one.

Also worth mentioning: Long John Baldry’s “Don’t Try to Lay No Boogie-Woogie…” was a number 73 BB hit and will get to number 35, and “Them Changes” by Buddy Miles was number 62 nationally but will make it to number 32.
