Another week where the chart is missing from the newspaper, or from the microfilm of the newspaper. The week’s positions are filled in as much as possible from the “last week” column of next week’s chart.

It’s the second straight week with six debuts. Most will do about as well here as nationally. The Bee Gees’ “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” a number one hit for four weeks in Billboard, will stop at number six. The big winner is Graham Nash’s “Chicago,” a number 35 BB hit that will get up to number nine.

Six debuts, most of which will do significantly better here than nationally. Ashton, Gardner & Dyke’s “Resurrection Shuffle,” a number 40 Billboard hit, will go all the way to number two; after the first few weeks it will be listed jointly with Tom Jones’ version. “Ajax Liquor Store,” a comedy record by Los Angeles DJs Hudson and Landry, will go quickly to number six; nationally it only made number 43. Chuck Mangione’s “Hill Where the Lord Hides” (76BB/12KJR) and Boz Scaggs’ “Near You” (96/34) will also be relatively popular in Seattle, while Dawn’s “Summer Sand” will do a bit better locally (33/20). That leaves Isaac Hayes’ version of “Never Can Say Goodbye” (22/30).
